That’s a lot to keep on mind.
I just prepare my shoes, socks, shorts, sunglasses and cap. Always forget the pins for the bib. A big mess.

Strangely most of that is mandatory kit. Though I do like the power pack as an optional extra and not all that kit goes with me – but for races I’d rather be prepared having had some nasty injuries on the trail

I can imagine. Your races are a total different world, compared to mine.
My races(official) are always held on a 1 or 2km loop, so whatever I need I leave it on the table at the aid station.

That would be so nice. I’m doing a 2.1km loop ultra this year on a track. 100km, no mud, no bag, just me and my Hoka! Looking forward to it 🙂 how do you find loops? Do you get bored? Music? How do you keep in the zone?

I’m used going around on circles. When I was a junior, all races were on a 400mts track. 25 laps it was annoying, moving to 20km and out to the road was like heaven.
You are not allowed to wear anything extra on official races, a watch, a heart rate monitor cap and sunglasses is all you are allowed to wear.
There are at least 6 judges around the course, so that sorta keeps you in the zone. Either that our your coach yelling at you every time you pass by the aid station haha

I should get a coach!

Love the pic! I wore my Dirty Girl Gaiters for TT50 and was quite gutted to see someone go past wearing an identical pair. Was a bit like wearing the same dress to the same party. Plus the added sulk of her being quicker than me 🙂

That’s why I bought the most lurid and insane colour possible. No British man but me would be seen dead in them 🙂 let alone run in the buggers
